Redressing Racialized Disparities
Illinois’ housing and criminal legal systems were built upon centuries of racism and economic discrimination. Policies and practices carried out by these systems have resulted in racial and economic disparities. Redressing racialized disparities is what we do and why we continue this work.
Currently, we are focusing on quality affordable housing and the criminal legal system and combating the legacy of harm these two systems perpetuate, which has resulted in racial and economic segregation, community disinvestment, mass incarceration, and over-policing.
