Right Response

Law enforcement officers are being asked to perform broad and varied tasks within our communities.  In some cases, police officers may not be the most appropriate personnel to provide non-punitive responses that address specific community needs and reduce potentially harmful interactions. Impact for Equity evaluates the functions of police that could be better addressed by others in order to reduce harmful police-civilian interactions, save limited resources, and improve public safety response.
