Property Taxes

Impact for Equity works to create a property tax system in which tax burdens no longer disproportionately affect low-income communities and communities of color, and assessments and appeals are based on objective, transparent criteria. This work has focused on state-level reform to the tax sale system in the wake of the Tyler v. Hennepin Supreme Court decision, and on improvements to the assessment appeal system in Cook County.
