Georgia Tankard

Georgia serves as a Public Policy Associate on Impact for Equity’s Criminal Legal Systems team. 

Before joining Impact for Equity, Georgia held various positions at Northwestern University, managing numerous research and evaluation projects focused on Community Violence Intervention (CVI) at the Center for Neighborhood Engaged Research and Science (CORNERS) and working as a paralegal at Northwestern’s Bluhm Legal Clinic with a particular focus on immigration and clemency cases.  Prior to these roles, Georgia worked as a paralegal at the National Immigrant Justice Center where she supported victims of crime applying for U-visas in addition to working on DACA and family relief cases. Outside of these roles, Georgia has supported community members at asylum clinics throughout Chicago offering translation, interpretation and paralegal services. Georgia is a trained mediator with a passion for incorporating conflict resolution as a tool to build consensus and advance systems change.

Georgia holds a Master’s of Public Policy and Public Administration from Northwestern University and a BA from Occidental College. She is a fluent Spanish speaker.
