Simone Montgomery

Simone Montgomery is a Polikoff-Gautreaux Fellow on Impact for Equity’s Housing team.

Simone holds a JD from the University of California, Davis School of Law (King Hall). At King Hall, Simone worked as a Legal Research & Writing tutor, Senior Articles Editor on the Social Justice Law Review, and as a Research Assistant. Simone also participated in the Aoki Water Justice Clinic, which facilitates California communities in obtaining safe and affordable drinking water. During her 2L summer, Simone interned with Impact for Equity, where she worked with the Housing team on projects related to Chicago’s Building Code and the Affordable Housing Planning and Appeal Act (AHPAA). As a 3L, Simone clerked for the Senate Judiciary Committee in the DC office of then-Chair and Illinois Senator Dick Durbin, where she assisted in preparations for Committee hearings, with special focus on immigration, agency and government oversight, and press.

Prior to law school, Simone worked at Chicago Humanities on the festival’s marketing team.

Simone holds a BA in English from UCLA and an AA from Oakton College.
