Suni serves as Staff Counsel on Impact for Equity’s housing team, focusing on equitable systems change to remove barriers and ensure access to quality, affordable housing in Chicago and throughout Illinois.
Prior to joining Impact for Equity, Suni worked on the development team at Start Early, supporting state policy efforts to strengthen the early childhood ecosystem in Illinois for families with young children from birth to age 5. In 2013, she was elected to the first of 2 terms on the Evanston/Skokie District 65 Board of Education. During her time on the school board, including 3 years as board president, she prioritized advancing policies and practices to reduce the racial opportunity gap. She also co-founded the PTA Equity Project, a grassroots project that culminated in a first-of-its-kind voluntary effort to consolidate parent fundraising into a single fund for equitable distribution across district schools.
Suni holds a JD from Chicago-Kent College of Law and a BA from Northwestern University.
